The airport is situated 5nm SE of the city in a high altitude valley at an elevation of 4,920ft, with the 25nm MSA up to 12,200ft.
Circling is only permitted to the S of the airport due to terrain.
Shiraz App should be contacted by 50nm range; beware that ATC may give descent clearances below MSA.
There are no instrument approach procedures to RWYs 11L and 11R.
RUNWAY AND AIRPORT FACILITIES
Airport facilities and nav aids may be unserviceable.
Joint civil/military operations may be in force; the arrester gear may be in use and pilots should request it to be in the ‘Down’ position before taking off or landing.
Large birds may be encountered in the vicinity of the airport and stray dogs have been reported to stroll the manoeuvring area.
Female crew members are usually required to don “Kaftans” prior to disembarkation.
